Here are some threads at the Spotify forum talking about this issue: I have owned my Dell XPS 15 for 2 years. Today when I turn my laptop on and launch spotfy whilst watching a youtube video, my pause media key starts pausing youtube instead of spotify (I have never been able to pause youtube before with media keys so this is very strange).
Google has recently updated YouTube with a new prompt that shows up over a video whenever the user has been inactive for a specific amount of time. Honda crv 1997 owners manual pdf free download.
The playback is automatically paused and user interaction is required to resume. âVideo paused. Continue watching?â the notification reads, and users are required to click âYESâ to continue playing.
While very little has been said officially on this new feature, its purpose is as simple as it could be: Google wants to reduce the number of passive viewers who typically load long videos, like music mixes, and then let them play in the background.
The same thing for playlists, which make it super-easy for YouTube users to listen to their favorite music without opening the site once after the playback starts.

In theory, this is something thatâs really useful for everyone because they can listen to music without opening YouTube, but from Googleâs perspective, it means these passive viewers do not watch ads that bring home the bacon.
So technically, these users enjoy the benefits of YouTube but get around ads by not opening the website.
By introducing the aforementioned prompt that requires manual input, YouTube makes sure that users continue to interact with the page. This is something that other services have been using as well, as eating up the bandwidth for no reason, such as when leaving the room for a longer period of time, itâs helping anyone.
In the case of YouTube, Google doesnât provide users with any method of disabling this behavior, so pretty much everyone could get the notification when playing longer videos in the background or playlists.
But as typically happens with such changes, you can disable them even if Google doesnât specifically let you to, and itâs all possible thanks to extensions available for the two most popular browsers in the world, namely Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
Run ipad apps on mac xcode. Both of them have been around for a while and are created by the same developer known as lawfx. They are called YouTube NonStop and can be downloaded using these links for Chrome and Firefox.
The extension doesnât come with any UI, so itâs enough to simply install it and then enjoy YouTube without any interruption. One thing you should know, however, is that the extension isnât supposed to block the YouTube message from showing up on the screen, as the developer explains in the description.
âThis extension doesn't keep the confirmation box from popping up. It only counters it. Such as un-pausing the video when paused and auto-clicking the confirmation box.â
âTired of getting that 'Video paused. Continue watching?' confirmation dialog? This extension autoclicks it, so you can listen to your favorite music uninterrupted,â it adds.
Needless to say, the extension is completely free of charge, and it works with both YouTube and YouTube Music. It supports video in full screen and the mini player.
Of course, this isnât the only extension that blocks the YouTube prompt from showing up, but YouTube NonStop is free, easy to use, and is available for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. And because the number of Chromium-based browsers is always increasing, especially after the migration of Microsoft Edge from EdgeHTML to this engine, this extension can be used on a wide array of applications.
The extension has been around for a while and Google hasnât blocked it just yet, so thereâs a chance the search giant is just OK with it and has no intention to remove it anytime soon.
Usually, when you play a video on YouTube, the on-screen buttons disappear immediately or with just one tap. Recently, I noticed that the buttons such as pause and video progress didnât go away automatically even after tapping.
Also, there was a new X mark icon at the bottom-right corner. I had to press that button every time to hide the controls. It made watching videos on YouTube a bit annoying.
If you are also facing this issue, I will help you get rid of it. You wonât have to press the X mark to hide the screen controls.
Letâs get started.
Turn off Switch Access and Accessibility Menu
I recently read that Android 9.0 Pie has a cool Accessibility menu. So, I enabled the setting on my Google Pixel 2 XL and discovered a new button in the bottom panel that offers quick access to notifications, Google Assistant, recent apps, and more. Little did I know that it also enabled the YouTube controls. I had to turn it off to make YouTube work normally.
Here are the steps to turn it off.
Step 1: Open device settings and tap on Accessibility. If you canât find it, look under System settings or Additional settings. Free echo dot with spotify subscriptions. You can also use the search feature to find the Accessibility settings.
Step 2: Once inside the Accessibility settings, tap on Switch Access. Then turn it off on the next screen. Pioneer dj system download.

A video is entirely enjoyable only when it is viewed in full screen. At times, YouTube faces another problem where the navigation bar doesnât hide in the full screen mode, disrupting the ambiance. Here are the solutions to hide it.
Switch to a Different App
If you see the navigation bar in the YouTube app, switch to a different app using the recent apps key. Once you are in the new app, switch back to the YouTube app. The bottom bar wonât be there.
Tip: If you are an Android 9.0 Pie user, you can use the overview selection feature to copy text and images right from the recent apps screen.
Enable/Disable VR Mode
The YouTube app makes any video in full screen friendly with the virtual reality (VR) mode. The option is present under the video settings. To hide the navigation bar, you need to enable the VR mode first and then disable it.
Doing this will force the video to go into the full screen view without the navigation bar. So enabling and disabling this mode should solve your problem. https://evercooking620.weebly.com/blog/best-free-vpn-for-spotify-pc.
To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the YouTube video in the full screen mode. Then tap on the three-dot icon at the top-right corner and select Watch in VR.
Step 2: Once in the VR mode, tap on the cross X icon to close the VR mode. You will be taken to the normal mode. Now watch any video and you won't see the navigation bar.
